We are ecstatic to share that West Country Parks have been named the Hospitality and Tourism Business of the Year and Large Business of the Year at the prestigious Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards 2025. These award categories honour businesses that deliver exceptional guest experiences and adapt to changing trends, and recognise large businesses that lead through innovation, communication and community impact. Businesses from across the region came together for an evening of celebration and recognition at this year’s Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards, where local organisations of all sizes were honoured for their hard work, resilience and innovation. This year was the busiest to date, with more than 130 entries across all categories. The standard was exceptionally high and reflects the strength and diversity of Sedgemoor’s business community. Speaking about the awards, Roger Smith, General Manager at the Bridgwater Chamber of Commerce, said; 'These awards really are the jewel in the Chamber’s crown, and this year was no exception, with more than 240 people coming together to celebrate our incredible local business community. Congratulations to all our finalists and winners. We look forward to continuing our work to connect, promote and support business, helping to ensure a thriving local economy.' We are delighted to share that Riverside Holiday Village has been named the Holiday Park of the Year and Dog Friendly Business of the Year at the Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards 2026, held at T he Apex City of Bath Hotel in Somerset. These award categories recognise holiday parks, sites and villages that provide exceptional guest experiences across static vans, touring pitches and more with a wide range of facilities and entertainment, and providers of truly memorable experiences for dogs and their human companions. This year marks the second consecutive year that Riverside has won the coveted Holiday Park of the Year Gold Award. Nell Barrington, awards director at Services for Tourism Ltd, commented on the importance of the awards: “What I love most about these awards is that they give tourism businesses the recognition they deserve. So many of them work incredibly hard, often with little reward, and some are tiny teams or even just one person keeping everything going. Despite the challenges the sector continues to face, these businesses have shown excellence, innovation and resilience.” We would like to thank our visitors, supporters and all of our fantastic team for your support.

The Charity Auction raised a whopping £2m to help sick children and babies at Bristol Children's Hospital and St Michael's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

We don’t think that anyone in our community should have to fear going hungry, especially at this time of year, so we will be supporting our local Food Bank again this winter.

Nine months have passed since we shared our Green Goals for 2025 and we continue to make fantastic progress!

This September, we joined the University of Bath's North Somerset Bat survey and the results were amazing!

We are delighted to announce that we will be adding a twelfth park to our extensive portfolio. Located in the market town of Shepton Mallet, Manleaze Residential Park is a peaceful over 50's park, offering a selection of brand new residential park homes for sale.

With the Summer Holidays behind us and Autumn drawing near, there's still plenty going on to keep our visitors entertained here at Riverside Holiday Village .

Following a Mystery Guest visit by a professional inspector this July, each park has been assessed under a set of quality standards agreed by an independent Quality Advisory Board. The inspection included an assessment of each parks; Location and Access Sustainability/Green Credentials Customer Care Cleanliness/Maintenance Toilets Other Site Facilities Pitches Grounds All three parks scored an impressive 90% overall. With Coombes and Rose Farm both achieving full marks for 'customer care' and Riverside’s impressive facilities bagging them the top score. When visiting Four Star Parks, customers can expect a high-quality site with well-maintained facilities and very good customer care. Additionally, each park was awarded a Gold Award, placing them being amongst the best sites in their star category. David Tattersall, Group Manager of West Country Park Homes: "Yet another well-deserved result here. This level of award, by such a high-brand Assessor, just proves that we are hitting the high standards consistently. The inspections were carried-out without specific notice."

Six months have passed since we shared our Green Goals for 2025 and we continue to make fantastic progress!

Leading wildlife charity, Butterfly Conservation, has revealed the dates of this year’s highly anticipated Big Butterfly Count, which will take place from 18 July - 10 August. The annual citizen science programme, which is now in its 16th year, attracts tens of thousands of people out into their gardens, local green spaces or the countryside to spend 15 minutes counting butterflies and helping to track trends and inform conservation action. After declining numbers of butterflies resulted in the charity declaring a nationwide Butterfly Emergency last year, it’s more important than ever that people take part in 2025. Last summer’s Big Butterfly Count results were alarming. Overall, participants spotted just seven butterflies on average per 15-minute Count in 2024, a reduction of almost 50% on 2023’s average of 12, and the lowest in the history of the Big Butterfly Count. It was also the worst summer in the Count’s history for a number of popular species including Small Tortoiseshell and Common Blue. We are asking visitors to get involved and join us at Riverside Holiday Village near Weston-super-Mare on Thursday 1st August from 2.00pm - 2.15pm.

We are delighted to share that Riverside Holiday Village will host Weston's Party in the Park for the second consecutive year!

For 6 nights in September, we will be deploying two ultrasonic bat detectors at Riverside Holiday Village near Weston-super-Mare to collect data on the activities of any bat species around our holiday park.
