The Rodney Stoke Caravan and Camping Park is perfect for those searching for a quieter, adult-only caravan park or campsiteOur small, 32-pitch campsite can be found at the foot of the Mendip Hills between Cheddar and the Cathedral City of Wells

The famous Cheddar Gorge and Caves are less than three miles from the campsite offering numerous attractions including cliff-top walks, caving, rock climbing and the Museum of Prehistory. At 400ft deep and 3 miles long the Gorge is one of Britain's most spectacular natural landmarks, and areas of the mysterious caves are over 500,000 years old!

Other nearby activities include fishing, golfing, horse riding, sailing and cycling.

Although under separate ownership, The Rodney Stoke Inn lies just in front of our park and the quirky Cider Barn is just one mile from the campsite (a 20 minute walk or 3 minute drive) where visitors can enjoy an array of sourdough pizzas and bar snacks whilst sampling a fantastic selection of West Country ales and ciders!

Located at the entrance to our Cheddar Campsite, The Rodney Stoke Inn serves a fantastic selection of delicious pub food, including a traditional Sunday Roast.

Our brand new Fully Serviced Touring Pitches include dedicated provision for electric, surface drainage and grey water drainage.

Safely dispose of grey waste with our new motorhome service bay.

Touring and Camping
At The Rodney Stoke Caravan and Camping Park, we offer hard-standing or grass pitches for casual touring and camping. Booking fees include water and electric. All hard-standing pitches are fully serviced.

Check in/out
Check in from 12pm - 6pm and check out by 11am.

Cancellations
You may cancel your booking at any time. We do not offer refunds for cancelled 
bookings, unless a minimum of 4 weeks notice is given (with a valid reason). The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure

What's on in and around Cheddar


Views of Cheddar Gorge which is near our campsite.
With over 20 different attractions, Cheddar Gorge and Caves is an international centre for caving and rock climbing.

Home to several rare wildflowers and a variety of birds and butterflies, the Rodney Stoke National Nature Reserve can be accessed along a path from Rodney Stoke Village.

Sample some local Cave Aged Cheddar Cheese, or visit the dairy and watch it being made the traditional way!

The 4-mile circular Gorge Walk offers spectacular views, but there are plenty of lesser known walking trails to tackle aswell!

Beginners can enjoy hourly rides, or if you're a more experienced rider, book a day ride.

Enjoy a variety of taster sessions from qualified instructors at Cheddar Reservoir.

Centred around the magnificent 12th century Cathedral, the medieval city of Wells is just a fifteen minute drive away. Other notable places to visit include The Bishop’s Palace, Vicar’s Close and Wells Market.

    The Rodney Stoke caravan site is open all year (from January - December).
